Job Description

The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Senior Horticulturist working across North London and West London, maintaining some of the capital's most beautifully designed high-end private gardens, courtyards, and roof terraces. This is a full time permanent position with a salary of £36,500 per annum depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with a 7.45am start and 4.15pm finish, including a 45-minute break taken during the day. This role is ideal for an experienced horticulturist who has developed strong plant knowledge over time and takes genuine pride in maintaining gardens to an exceptional standard. You will lead by example on site, supervise junior team members, and deliver consistently high-quality horticultural maintenance in premium private settings. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver high-quality garden maintenance across high-end private gardens Maintain design-led gardens, courtyards, and roof terraces to exceptional standards Supervise and support one to two junior horticulturists on site Carry out seasonal horticultural tasks including pruning, planting, and general maintenance Diagnose plant health issues and implement appropriate treatments Operate tools, machinery, and equipment safely and professionally Provide a professional, client-facing service at all times Ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order Requirements Minimum three years' experience maintaining high-end private gardens Strong horticultural knowledge with good seasonal awareness Proven ability to supervise and support junior team members Professional, reliable, punctual, and detail-driven approach Confidence working independently and managing daily workloads Full UK driving licence and confidence driving a company van in London Skills and Qualities Excellent plant knowledge and practical horticultural ability Meticulous attention to detail and pride in presentation Strong communication and client-facing skills Consistent, organised, and dependable Passion for quality horticulture and long-term garden care What's On Offer Salary of £36,500 per annum depending on experience Company vehicle provided Full time permanent role Monday to Friday working hours 28 days paid holiday Company pension scheme Uniform and equipment provided Ongoing training and development Supportive, experienced team and outstanding private gardens How to Apply This role is being recruited by Halmer Group on behalf of our client.
