Quality Controller – Fresh Produce | Fast Growing Global Business | Hands On Role Location: Maidstone, Kent Salary: £30,000 to £32,000 plus overtime opportunities Shift Pattern: Sunday – Thursday, 8am-5pm flexibility required Are you detail orientated, quality driven and comfortable working in a fast paced fresh produce environment? A fast growing, worldwide fresh produce business specialising in import and export is looking for a proactive Quality Controller to join their onsite team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that all products processed and dispatched meet quality, food safety and customer specifications. This is a hands on, operational role offering variety, responsibility and close collaboration with internal teams and third party partners in a business that values flexibility, teamwork and continuous improvement. What You’ll Be Doing • Oversee product arrivals, despatch and ensuring all products are packed correctly and within specification • Work closely with Line Leaders and Online QC to maintain quality standards and manage grade outs • Manage workload in line with daily orders and production demands • Monitor shelf life, customer samples and carry out associated quality testing • Complete all required quality, food safety and compliance documentation accurately • Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards across all operations • Work closely with the on site Management team and third party packing partners • Monitor productivity of Production Operatives at third party operations, providing training, feedback and support • Provide clear and effective quality feedback to Management teams and Customers • Investigate product rejections, follow up actions and complete all necessary reports What’s In It for You • Salary of £30,000 to £32,000 • Overtime opportunities available • Full time, permanent role within a fast growing international business • A collaborative, team focused working environment • A varied and fast paced role where no two days are the same • The opportunity to develop your experience within quality and fresh produce Your Background • Previous experience working within a fresh produce environment with responsibility for monitoring product quality is a strong advantage • Excellent attention to detail and a strong quality mindset • Previous experience working within a fresh produce environment is essential, with responsibility for monitoring product quality • Good understanding of food hygiene, health and safety standards • Comfortable completing documentation and following written and verbal instructions • Confident working under pressure in a fast paced environment • A flexible, can do attitude with the ability to use initiative • Comfortable working as part of a small team and with third party partners • Basic understanding of stock control systems • Confident using Microsoft Office, with SAP experience beneficial Languages • English required • Spanish or Eastern European languages an advantage but not essential Join a Business That Invests in You You will be joining a progressive, fast growing fresh produce business where quality matters and people are valued.
