Project Manager – Subcontractor (Main Contractor Experience Essential) London Permanent £60,000 – £75,000 + Benefits About the Company Our client is a leading specialist subcontractor delivering large-scale commercial fit-out and raised flooring projects across London. With an excellent reputation for quality, safety, and performance, the company partners with major main contractors on some of the capital’s most high-profile developments. Typically delivering two to three large projects per year, the business offers long-term stability, a strong pipeline of work, and the opportunity to manage significant, technically challenging projects. The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will be based full-time on site, responsible for the end-to-end management of commercial flooring and fit-out projects — from planning and coordination through to QA, health & safety, and client liaison. The ideal candidate will have proven main contractor interface experience and the ability to lead site operations to the highest professional standard. Key Responsibilities * Manage the day-to-day running of major commercial fit-out and flooring projects. * Oversee subcontractor teams, labour allocation, and material coordination. * Attend and contribute to progress and coordination meetings with main contractors and internal teams. * Prepare, review, and monitor RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements). * Conduct QA inspections, manage site documentation, and ensure compliance with project specifications. * Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to exceptional quality standards. * Provide regular progress updates to senior management and maintain strong client relationships. Experience & Requirements * Proven track record as a Project Manager for a specialist subcontractor working with Tier 1 main contractors. * Experience in fit-out, raised flooring, or interiors environments. * Strong understanding of site management, QA, and health & safety compliance. * Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. * Competent in reading drawings and managing project programmes. * SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications essential.
