Senior Manager – Verification & Validation Delivery Derby, Warrington or Manchester / Hybrid £68,000 - £90,000 + Excellent benefits Morson are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Manager - Verification and Validation (V&V) Delivery to join a groundbreaking Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme. The Role As Senior Manager – V&V Delivery, you will be accountable for leading and delivering all Verification & Validation activity across the full SMR programme. This includes responsibility for hardware, software, systems, and structures that make up the reactor and conventional islands, electrical controls & instrumentation, civil structures, and build certainty. You will lead a team of managers and engineers, driving performance and technical excellence. Strong leadership, collaboration, and V&V expertise will be essential to succeed. Key Responsibilities Deliver Validation & Verification activities to ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements across SMR hardware (structures, systems, components) and software. Plan, define, and deliver all V&V artefacts (e.g., strategies) in line with programme cost, quality, and schedule requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Provide technical oversight and governance of V&V activities to ensure design and safety case needs are met. Support budget and capacity planning with Capability Managers to ensure objectives are met efficiently. Work closely with Capability Managers and Systems Engineering teams to deliver integrated V&V processes and tools. Key Selection Criteria Verification and Validation Expertise Extensive experience in verification and validation of product hardware and software, ensuring compliance with design, business, and regulatory requirements. Experience in safety-critical and highly regulated industries; nuclear experience is desirable but not essential. Leadership and Mentoring Proven ability to lead and motivate large teams (30+ people) to deliver complex programmes on time and within budget. Governance of team output using technical reviews and management tools (e.g., risk management and scheduling software). Communication and Influence Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders effectively. Ability to communicate complex topics clearly and manage uncertainty and change. Systems Engineering Systems-thinking mindset with practical experience using Systems Engineering tools (e.g., DOORS) to deliver positive outcomes. Analytical, methodical, and capable of managing ambiguity. Nuclear Safety Culture Demonstrates and promotes strong safety behaviours; contributes to a positive safety culture in a nuclear context. Qualifications Degree-level qualification in a relevant technical field. Proven engineering leadership experience in regulated industries. Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
